After conducting an extensive search for candidates, the City Planning Division has selected Mr. Brian Ford to fill the role of Planning Technician - Contract position. This positions helps to manage the day to day permitting process for Zoning and Urban Design issues, and helps the Community Planning Studio on assignments for Vision Plans, Code Amendments and other duties.

Mr. Ford, whose resume is attached, received a degree in Real Estate and Land Development from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008, and gained further studies with a Masters in City and Regional Planning from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Brian also has two years experience as a market researcher/appraiser with Integra Real Realty Resources in both the Washington DC and Charlotte areas.  He also worked an additional two years with a student housing developer in Winter Garden, FL.  He also has had two related planning internships included in his career.  All told, Brian has 4-5 years of related experience, and is passionate about joining a major city's planning department.
