Summary:
On May 18, 2015, the Orlando City Council approved a 2-year Operation AmeriCorps Grant grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), via Volunteer Florida, to fund academic support and enrichment services for 11th and 12th grade students attending Jones, Boone, Colonial, Lake Nona and Edgewater High Schools.
The grant funds an After-School All-Stars Coordinator - Contract position which, by way of the attached contract, will be filled by Guillermo Escobar. In this capacity, Mr. Escobar will ensures that the City meets all administrative and operational requirements of the grant for the period August 10, 2015 through July 31, 2017.
Mr. Escobar will perform administrative and supervisory work planning, managing coordinating and conducting the ASAS program and all AmeriCorps grant projects; oversee collection and preparation of program data for performance reports; assist in the creation of the overall program design, structure and curriculum taught; review, monitor and ensure adherence of AmeriCorps and Orlando ASAS program goals and objectives and manage, analyze and evaluate existing Orlando ASAS programs and AmeriCorps grant projects. |
