Memorandum of Understanding with National Recreation and Park Association

Summary:
The Families, Parks and Recreation Department (FPR) is seeking grant funding from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) via the "Parks Build Community Program."  Made possible through the support of Disney, ABC, and ESPN, the program aims to improve local parks through projects that connect kids and nature, help kids and families live healthier, and increase kids' access to sports.   FPR is seeking funding for one of the following projects:

-Adding 2 learning stations to the Bill Fredrick Park Nature Connect Trail
-Creating a small shade canopy at the Orlando Skate Park
-Purchasing equipment and water coolers for children participating in the Parramore Kidz Zone football program.

Should one of these projects be selected for grant funding, the City of Orlando will be asked to enter into the attached Memorandum of Understanding with NRPA.

Recommended Action:
Authorize the City of Orlando to enter into the attached MOU with NRPA should one of the proposed projects be selected for grant funding.
