Summary:
The Capital Improvements & Infrastructure Development Division is responsible for providing construction management and inspection services for City infrastructure projects. Current full time permanent staff members are fully committed to projects already under construction. In addition, another $45 million dollars worth of upcoming construction projects will commence in the coming months. Those projects include the new $40 million dollar O.P.D. Headquarters and the $5 million dollar Fire Station #2. Mr Scobby is assigned to both projects.
His services are projected to be needed on a short term (2 year) basis. Public Works received authorization to create additional City contract Construction Manager positions in lieu of using more costly outside consultants. Mr. Scobby will fill one Construction Manager position. These positions are included and funded in the FY 2015 and FY 2016 budget as full-time, contract positions. This agreement is for a two-year period, beginning on or about February 24, 2015 and ending on or about February 23, 2017. |
