Approving Silver Star Railroad Reimbursement Agreement for Grade Crossing Traffic Control Devices
Summary:
Annually the Florida Department of Transportation (Department) assembles a District Diagnostic Team to conduct on-site evaluation of railroad crossings that have been identified as potentially hazardous. Representatives from the Department's Safety and Rail Offices and Florida Central Railroad, Inc. evaluated the rail crossing near Seaboard Road and Silver Star (Milepost No. 811.40) in Orlando.  The installation of the recommended railroad signal improvements will be at the Department's expense using Federal Safety Funds.  The City will responsible for 50% of the yearly maintenance cost for the improved signal.

Recommended Action:
Approval and authorization for the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute the Seaboard and Silver Star Railroad Reimbursement Agreement (Railroad Crossing No. 914115-V), subject to review by the Office of Legal Affairs.
