Amendment to Contract for Red Light Violation Cameras and Citation System, RFP07-594
Summary:
The City of Orlando and Lasercraft, Inc., entered into a contract for provision of red light camera enforcement equipment of April 1, 2008, pursuant to adoption of City Code providing for red light camera enforcement.  Operation of the system commenced in September 2008.  In May 2010, Lasercraft was purchased by American Traffic Solutions, maintaining Lasercraft as a wholly owned subsidiary, and has continued to operate the system.

Due to pending litigation, it is currently in the best interest of the City to extend the contract at this time.  The current contract term expires on September 30, 2014.  Code Enforcement Division is requesting that the contract be amended to extend for an additional twelve (12) month term.

Recommended Action:

Authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to execute a contract amendment with American Traffic Systems, Incorporated as indicated above, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
