Summary:
The attached Interlocal Agreement Transferring Jurisdiction of a Segment of Dowden Road will transfer an approximately 1,100' segment of Dowden Road from the Orange County road system to the City of Orlando road system.
The segment is generally located at the overpass of State Road 417 at Dowden Road, running eastward toward the recently annexed Storey Park planned development (formerly known as "Innovation Place"). The segment lies between the existing Dowden road to the west that is currently part of the City road system and the planned extension of Dowden Road to the east through Storey Park. Because Storey Park is now within the City of Orlando, the newly dedicated extension of Dowden Road will be dedicated to the public as part of the City road system.
The purpose of this transfer is to avoid inefficiencies associated with a short segment of roadway laying in the County road system, with the greater extent of the road laying on either side of the segment and being part of the City road system. |

Recommended Action:
Approval of the attached Interlocal Agreement between the City and the County and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk or the Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney. |
