Summary:
The City of Orlando is committed to providing a safe, comfortable and connected pedestrian system. This commitment is documented in the City’s adopted Growth Management Plan (GMP) with a set of goals and policies that require a balanced multimodal transportation system including an interconnected sidewalk network. In addition to accommodating the mobility of citizens subject to the Americans with Disabilities Act, sidewalks also serve to improve public safety and help to encourage active healthy living.
The City has a Federal Local Agency Program Agreement that provides a mechanism for the City to receive reimbursement of Federal Surface Transportation Funds. This Supplemental Agreement provides an additional $1,156,584 in construction funding to the original funding amount in the Phase II Agreement approved by council on March 31, 2014. |
