FY 2014 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program Grant Award Modification #2

Summary:
The City of Orlando received approval on April 14, 2014, for a FY 2014 grant from the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program in the amount of $99,524.00 approved by City Council on April 14, 2014. Modification #1 to the FY 2014 HIDTA Program grant was an increase in the initial award in the amount of $9,948.00 for a total award of $109,472.00 approved by City Council on June 2, 2014.

Modification #2 is a reduction in the FY 2014 HIDTA Program grant in the amount of $1,974.28 for a total award of $107,497.72.

The funds will be used for overtime, vehicle leases and equipment rental for OPD officers assigned to the Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, DEA Heroin Task Force and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation.

Recommended Action:
Approval by City Council and ratification of the execution by the Mayor of the FY 2014 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program Grant, Modification #2, subject to review by the City Attorney's Office and the Grant Development Supervisor.
