Mayor Dyer will call on Marcia Hope Goodwin, the City's Chief Service Officer, to introduce the proclamation.

The City of Orlando is committed to encouraging volunteerism among its employees, citizens and partners. The City celebrates National Volunteer Month and recognizes its valued volunteers through several events. Orlando has many volunteer community partners and national service members who support worthwhile activities in Orlando. The City is proud to be a Cities of Service Leadership City implementing Orlando Cares: Orlando's High Impact Volunteer Service plan and the Orlando Partnership for School Success (O-PASS) and engaging valued volunteers in many city operations.

The governor has designated April as Volunteer Month, promoting the spirit of volunteerism throughout the state. The goal is to get more people to find their passion and serve their communities, while raising awareness of how volunteers and national service members improve lives.

Marcia will introduce the volunteers present before the Mayor reads the proclamation and takes a photo with the volunteers and national service members.
