Summary:
Dasumakim, LLC, d/b/a Sunshine Coin Laundry, is owned by Sue McCreary with her husband David. Sunshine Coin Laundry is located in the Downtown Orlando Community Redevelopment Area at 700 West Livingston Street. The applicants purchased the business in 2010, but it has been a part of the Parramore community for more than 30 years. The applicants requested $39,980.00 to be used towards the purchase of high efficiency washers, water heaters, dryer repairs, folding tables, and laundry carts.
Staff requests approval from the CRA for the
MEBA
Funding Agreement and Security Agreement between the Community Redevelopment Agency and Dasumakim, LLC d/b/a Sunshine Coin Laundry, and authorization for the Chair of the CRA and Executive Director of the CRA to execute said agreements, subject to review and approval of the City Attorney’s Office.
The Minority/Women Business Assistance Program was approved by the CRA on August 28, 2006. The MEBA Program assists with small business retention and creation in the MEBA target area as defined within the Downtown Orlando Community Redevelopment Area. The MEBA Program provides financial assistance of up to $40,000.00 to qualified new and existing retail and service businesses for retention/relocation expenses, purchase of capital equipment, marketing services, and business start-up expenses.
The MEBA Advisory Board recommended approval of funding up to $40,000.00 at the February 26, 2014 MEBA Advisory Board Meeting.
The CRA Advisory Board recommended approval of funding up to $40,000.00 at the March 26, 2014 CRA Advisory Board Meeting.
