Summary:
The Traffic Homicide Unit (THU) at OPD currently uses crash reconstruction software that is outdated. New software will facilitate more dynamic and accurate reconstruction of traffic homicides, improving the ability of OPD to investigate these crashes.
This grant will supply funding to address traffic safety. The grant, in the amount of $32,000.00, will be used to purchase crash and crime reconstruction software to enhance traffic homicide investigations.

FY 2015 FDOT Safety Grant-Concept Paper for Traffic Records to be approved by City Council on February 10, 2014.

Recommended Action:
Approval by City Council of the FY 20015 FDOT Highway Safety Grant-Concept Paper for Traffic Records, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office and the Grant Development Supervisor.
